Fw 190 F-9

Focke Wulf Fw 190 F-9

English version

The new Fw 190 F-9 left the assembly line in October 1944 and had many similarities with the previous A-9. One of the changes introduced was an improved power plant, the TS BMW 801 equipped with a propeller wood largest diameter of 3500 mm and to accommodate the new engine hood had to lengthen the device. Some of them also equipped with a drift immunity similar to that employed elongated in the Ta 152. The armament remained the same as in the previous version, two MG 131 machine guns and two 13 mm guns MG 151/20 to 20 mm.

The strategic bombing intensified the problem of critical materials for the aviation industry. In late 1944 and early 1945 the Focke Wulf 190 also had to deal with these problems so that many parts had to be made of wood (tails, flaps and ailerons mainly). We planned the production of another version of the Fw 190 under the designation F-10, based on the A-10. This device would be powered by the BMW 801 F engine and would have a larger tail section, similar to that used by the Ta 152, but none went into production because of delays in deliveries of the new engine and the end of the contest.

The next version was the Fw 190 F-15 to be powered by a BMW 801 TS and was developed from the prototype Fw 190 V66 (Wk.Nr. 584.002). Meanwhile the V67 (Wk.Nr. 930 516) served as the basis for the Fw 190 F-16 but the V67 was only one version of a modified F-8. For the naval attack was for the Fw 190 F-17 incorporating more modern systems for their work over the sea.
